I use this procedure when I want my underexposed pics to look better and to give them a more professional look. I'm no pro, but I'm pleased with this

It's the first time I make one. one thing- DUPLICATE YOUR IMAGE BEFORE YOU HIT PLAY!!. It's not necessarily, but if you don't like it or if it's too strong or anything you can lower the opacity...
Or if it's not strong enough you can play it twice

It's made in Photoshop CS3
